In heavy-duty towing, even a routine call can require quick adjustments, technical knowledge, and the right equipment to complete the job safely. Across the Pacific Northwest, Pro-Tow by FleetEasy responds to these situations every day, helping fleets and drivers move equipment safely and efficiently.
Recently, Team Pro-Tow was called to help move a Mack truck that was having trouble with its Electronic Control Unit. We headed out to 3702 Street in Auburn, WA, to assist with semi-truck towing.
Here’s how it went down.
Up for a Challenge When Conditions Change

When our operator arrived on site, he noticed that access was limited before starting out. The tractor was backed into position with very little room to work from the rear. After checking in at the gate and locating the vehicle, the operator began planning the safest route for this heavy-duty towing job.
The initial approach was a front hook. Our operator used extra care to position the frame forks and lift the tractor safely. During this process, the operator saw a complication with the driveline setup.
“I noticed the 6-8 bolt pattern style driveline. At that time, we went to plan B, which was to winch the tractor out a ways to gain access to put S214 behind the tractor for a rear hook.”
This kind of decision-making is critical in heavy-duty towing. Forcing the wrong setup can lead to damage or unsafe conditions. Taking the time to reposition and adjust ensures the job is done correctly.
Pro Semi-Truck Towing = Safe Rigging and Secure Transport
Once the tractor was in the correct position, the operator completed a rear hook setup. Using the proper equipment, including U-bolt cups, the rear axle was lifted and secured. The front drive axle was chained, and the steering wheel was strapped to prevent movement during transport.
Before leaving the site, a full safety check was completed. Chains, lights, and connections were checked to ensure the vehicle could be transported safely across the roadway. We always take every step to protect the vehicle, the operator, and other drivers on the road before, during, and after transport.

Delivery and a Job Well Done
After securing the load, the operator transported the tractor to its destination. Upon arrival, they checked in with the receiving location, followed the instructions for parking the Mack truck, and carefully unloaded the unit.
Once the vehicle was safely delivered, all equipment was packed away, and the operator returned to the yard ready for the next call.
