Heavy equipment recovery is no easy task. When something like a track loader or skid steer tips over, the situation can be tricky and dangerous if not managed correctly. Recently, Pro-Tow by FleetEasy responded to a call in on 272 Avenue, SE in Ravensdale, WA, where a Kubota Track Loader had tipped onto its side during residential landscaping and excavation work.
The compact track loader had slid partway down a steep embankment, landing in thick bushes and near trees. The homeowner contacted our Team Pro-Tow to recover the equipment safely without causing more damage to the equipment or yard.

In this article, we’ll share how we tackled this heavy-duty recovery and more about our emergency recovery and fleet equipment services.
Heavy Equipment Recovery from Plan to Practice
Our operators responded with an HD crane-style rotator wrecker, bringing the power and reach needed for this challenging heavy-duty recovery.
The operator reported that they “Arrived on scene and things were tight. The driveway was narrow, with lots of curves. Once up there, we talked with the homeowner and told them the plan.”
With the rotator set up in the driveway, the safest and most stable location given the loose soil on the hillside, Team Pro-Tow planned a careful, heavy-duty recovery strategy. The rigging included one line to roll it over and right-side-up, and the other line to spin it 90 degrees once it was on its tracks. From there, the Kubota was slowly hauled up the hill to level ground.
A few small trees were trimmed (with homeowner approval) to clear the recovery path. The goal was simple: restore the equipment safely, protect the surrounding landscape, and ensure the Kubota Track Loader could be operated again once upright.

Successful Heavy-Duty Recovery
Once the Bobcat was back on level ground, the homeowner asked to test it. The machine started and moved on its own power, so no towing or transport was required. After securing the area and cleaning up, our team cleaned up, packed up their gear and returned to our secure yard to restore the equipment.
This incident is an excellent example of how experience, teamwork, and specialized equipment make all the difference in safe recoveries. Even small or residential equipment recovery calls require precision and care to prevent further mechanical or environmental issues.
